Teaching procedures and ways：
Step1 Revision
Greet the students as usual. Then ask them to look at the pictures and answer the questions. (Use: where questions, Yes/No question and short answers, prepositions on, in ,under)
Step2 Lead-in
Show some pictures to learn the new words.
(Use: What’s this in English? It’s a/an…)
Step3 Match work (1a; P22)
Show a picture of Activity 1a, and match the words with the things in the picture.
Step4 Speaking ( 1b: P22)
Ask the students to look at Tommy’s room for two minutes and then write down all the things they can remember without looking at the picture.
Step 5 Pair work. ( 1c: P22)
Talk about Tommy’s room .Let the students make up conversations like this:
---Where’s the ID card? --- The ID card is on the table.
---Where’re the books? --- The books are on the chair.
…
Step 6 Listening ( 2a, 2b: P22)
Play the tape once for students to listen and circle the things Tommy wants from his room. Check the answers in Section B, 2a.
Listen again. Write down the sentence about where Tommy’s things are. Check the answers in Section B, 2b.
Step7 Game: Find the difference
Ask the students to look at the two pictures at the same time and then let them find the difference.
Ask some students to report their answers like this: In Picture 1, the key is … In Picture 2, the key is…
Step 8 Homework
Practice talking about where things are.
Act out the conversation in Section B, 2a and 2b.
Talk about their rooms with their partner.
